Get a Real Job..for crying out loud !

The Indian/Tamil news outlets have been dominated over the past few weeks with the headlines Court cases/protests/Arrest warrants on the people from the Tamil Film Industry.

Kushboo -- the erstwhile demi-goddess has always been the the darling of the masses in Tamil Nadu. Not anymore! In an interview to a Leading National magazine, she made some remarks on pre-marital sex and how the 21st century Tamil woman has evolved.

The next day you see protests bursting out by pseudo-political outfits trying to gain publicity through this incident. These outfits claim that the actress has made derogatory remarks on Tamil women and women from our state never indulge in such "blasphemous" acts such as pre-marital sex.COMON NOW....grrrrrrrrrr...(Im controlling myself here)

Now even if that assumption is true , who cares what Kushboo says ???? Its her opinion and she made a point about it. Agree or Disagree...That’s all. I am tired of these "jobless" people making this a big issue and pursuing legal action against her. They have asked her to vacate Madras and go back to Mumbai.(where she is originally from)Not only does this make for BAD news...its takes cops to control these protests, takes away valuable court-time which could be spent on more pressing legal issues.

Suhasini, another actress, voiced her support to Kushboo and apologized on behalf of all the Tamils , for her recent travails. Guess what, now these "jobless" people are gunning for Suhasini's head. Their arguement.."Who is Suhasini to apologize for all the Tamils?”....Hmm interesting point, if that’s the case. Let me ask these protestors a question. Who are you to protest for Tamils on behalf of all the Tamils? I dont remember an election, where people voted these protestors to be the moral police of Tamil Nadu.

Comon now. we could go back and forth. I don’t believe employment is booming in India. Contrary to media reports. I think India has an ever increasing rate of unemployment. Because if it did not...These people would have real jobs!!

Great post, buddy.

this story has been downright shameful to Tamilnadu. Its embarrassing to say the least. Utmost hypocrisy

even the more sensible celebrities will now keep their mouths shut coz it could only cause more damage.

Even Jayalalitha said that Kushboo crossed the line there. Are you fucking kidding me? You must be crazy to believe that JJ is a freaking virgin!

I agree..The worst part is, nobody with real power is coming to support Kushboo ??

Rajni ? Kamal ?? Where are these people ? Vijaykanth jus started a polical party..why has he not said anything ? The bottomline is people are afraid that it might backfire on them.

I feel bad for Kushboo !

You were on the money Sayee!Hypocricy is well and truly alive. The same group of people will watch a Kushboo/Nila/Simran stripping in earnest in the movies.Infact people like S.J.Surya should be the first one to be arrested. Is he upholding tamil culture in his movies?Selvaragahavan propagated pre marital sex in 7G..why was he let go.

These F*** B** just do it for political mileage. We have a bunch of moral police officers in Tamil nadu who are the torch bearers of our culture. Can someone please define "tamil culture" to me?

Sayee, I have been feeling so annoyed with that whole episode too! Please, when she dances around trees, we cultured Tamils built a temple for her (for God's sake what an amazing culture that is@!!#!#) and when she was giving some sensible advice on protection to our AIDS-ridden, over-populated society we march into film studios with brooms! Can you beat how hypocrital our Tamil culture preservers are?! Any culture has got to evolve with time otherwise its going to become extinct.I mean, I certainly don't want to be part of a culture thats totally unconnected with my everyday life. If we pretend our teenagers are not experimenting with their sexuality out there, we're just going to battle disease few years from now.

Worse still on the same note, we are so busy preserving Tamil language and Culture (which is really important I agree considering Tamil is one of the few ancient languages that has stayed pure through the centuries), our neighbouring states are flourishing economically thanks to our close mindedness to the rest of the country. I've heard co-workers tell me they'd rather live in Bangalore than in Chennai because no-one will speak to them in English or Hindi ...thats shameful! Chennai is one the most well-planned cities, it has a huge International airport and some of the most educated, intelligent people. Why Tamil Nadu even produced a President! But no, we' re too busy chasing film stars out of our puritan state to think about how ridiculous we actually seem.

I am so mad too!

It sounds very easy to conclude. I think things are more complex when we look at the big picture.

Ofcourse, people like Tirumavalavan and Ramdas are ready to do anything to get their photos printed on the news paper. They want to get some imprint on the minds of people who generally only vote either for DMK or ADMK. Nobody can change the attitude of mercenaries like Tiru or Ram.

It is very easy for them to get a bunch of people to march with broom sticks. We have a whole lot of poor people who out of hunger are naturally ready to do anything for a pittance. As they say, civilization and barabarism are only three meals away.

I think we always forget the fact that politicians are part of the society. They are not a group of thieves imported from a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. Emotionally matured people (who tend to be educated most of the time. Ofcourse, the viceversa need not be true) do not think about entering politics. Naturally, the gap is filled by mercenaries who are ready to do anything for money. So, I think it is a sort of chicken and egg story. I don't think there is any easy solution for this problem.

Sethu..Things are changing.
Emotionally matured people are in Politics , they make educated decisions.
But when it comes to certain issues , politics takes over logic , which SUCKS

If on certain issues, politics is going to take over logic, that means there is a flaw in the emotional maturity, Isn't it?.
